A comprehensive overview of travel options is available from the campus office of conference and visitor services. Once you have arrived on campus, this campus map will help you locate the library (libraries (Hornbake = #147; McKeldin = #035). There is a College Park metro stop on the green line, which is served by a shuttle bus to campus approximately every 10 minutes.
...
For participants coming from out of town, the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 3501 University Blvd E is the most convenient lodging to campus, and is within an easy 10-15 minute walk of each day's venue. Other hotels, including some less expensive options, are located on Route 1 on the other side of campus, 1-2 miles away from the library. This map shows some of the nearby options.
Meals
Coffee and a light breakfast will be provided on each morning of the meeting, thanks to the sponsorship of the Washington Research Library Consortium, UMD Libraries, and Duraspace. Other meals will not be provided, but for lunch the participants will have many restaurants to choose from within walking distance of the venues. This Google Doc lists many of the nearby options.
What to Bring
Particularly for the Fedora Training on day 1, it is important that the participants bring their own laptop laptops to work on during the hands-on portions of the training. UMD Libraries will provide wireless guest internet access for participants who do not have a UMD login or and who are not coming from an Eduroam institution.
