The Intake services are a gateway for data to come into Chronopolis. Intake can be handled either by a service or can be performed manually. Intake is NOT synonymous with the term "Staging".
Depending on the route of intake, different tasks may be performed, including but not limited to:
- Creating BagIt Bags from Bags from a set of files, but this step can also be performed manually in advance.files
- Creating ACE Tokens
- deserialization Deserialization (e.g. extracting a tarball)
- notification to Chronopolis
- Intake can be handled either by a service or can be performed manually.
- Intake also includes notifying the Ingest service about the new bag and its location.
- Intake is NOT synonymous with the term "Staging". Notification of the existing package to the Ingest service
