This workshop is aimed at repository managers and developers. It will provide an overview of Fedora 4, the new version of the software, and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage with the project team. The workshop will also feature a discussion on migrating content to Fedora 4 from other repository systems, along with demonstrations of Fedora integrations. Managers will learn how Fedora 4 can support their use cases, and how to get up install and running with configure the latest version of the software. Developers will learn how to work to familiarize themselves with the Fedora 4 codebase, particularly in the context of building services on top of Fedora 4including the tools and processes used by the core Fedora 4 developers.
Two of the overall aims of the workshop are to encourage familiarity with and uptake of Fedora 4 within the Australian repository community, and to bring Australian developers into the global Fedora community and raise our profile in the research support arena.
