On October 21, 2024, DSpace Governance announced the intent to investigate a merger of DSpace and DSpace-CRIS. The announcement was posted via the Community Google Group. 

Planning Groups

DSpace Governance has authorized the formation of two planning groups to undertake this investigation:

  • Strategic Strategy Planning Group: focused on strategic issues related to a potential merger
  • Technology Planning Group: to develop a technology roadmap for potentially combining the codebases
