PCC-Sponsored MARC Proposals and Discussion Papers in Progress for Midwinter 2025:

The PCC Standing Committee on Standards (SCS) and other groups are preparing drafts of full proposals based on several recent discussion papers (listed below) for consideration at the Midwinter MARC Advisory Committee meeting in January 2025. SCS is also drafting new discussion papers, including a discussion paper on enhancements to field 586 (Awards note) in the Bibliographic Format, and a discussion paper. Several of these papers are co-sponsored with the Standing Committee on Applications, based on recommendations of the SCA Task Group on Enhancing Metadata and Practices in MARC Bibliographic Records.
