  • Wed. 10 April 2024, 12PM Eastern (time zone converter). Creating descriptions in Sinopia: a beginner's workshop. Registration link. NOTE: this is not an Affinity Group event, but we encourage anyone interested to attend! This 1.5-hour hands-on workshop will cover the basics of creating original descriptions for monographs in Sinopia using PCC BIBFRAME templates. Users will receive a walkthrough of the Sinopia editor in the Stage environment before generating new Instance and Work descriptions, step-by-step. This workshop will be of interest to anyone eager to begin cataloging in BIBFRAME, and of special interest to libraries working with the Alma LSP and following the work of the Ex Libris Linked Open Data Focus Group.  Please create an account in Sinopia Stage by clicking on the "Request Account" button, and pre-select a book or e-book to describe during the workshop. The workshop will not be recorded, but will be offered again

  • Thur. 23 May 2024, 1PM-2PM Eastern (time zone converter).  BIBFRAME to WorldCat. Registration link.  TJ Kao (UC Davis Library) will discuss a pilot to send BIBFRAME descriptions to WorldCat.
  • Thur. 20 June 2024, 1PM-2PM Eastern (time zone converter). Demo: creating templates in Sinopia. Registration link. Kalli Mathios (Stanford Libraries) will demonstrate how to create basic templates in Sinopia.
