Agenda
# | Time | Item | Information | Who |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 10 mins | Introductions | All attendees will briefly introduce themselves | All |
2 | 15mins | Discuss scope and deliverables of this working group | Review how this group formed and what the next steps are. (Everyone should join Slack, specifically the #entities-wg channel for meeting reminders, ad hoc discussions, etc) | Tim |
3 | 20mins | Briefly introduce higher-level concepts behind early prototype of Configurable Entities | If you have a chance, please start to read the prototype documentation at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wEmHirFzrY3qgGtRr2YBQwGOvH1IuTVGmxDIdnqvwxM/edit (Public commenting is allowed on this document. Please feel free to add inline comments/questions/concerns.) | Tim / Lieven |
4 | 10mins | Define early prototype assessment plan | How would this group like to assess the early prototype? Do we need to establish a separate subgroup for detailed analysis? Do we schedule more frequent meetings (early on) to proceed more quickly? | Tim |
5 | 5mins | Schedule next meeting | When is a good time for the next meeting? Is there a day of the week that works best (ideal time for Americas + Europe seems to be 14:00-16:00 UTC?) | Tim |

- Introductions - All introduced selves & institutions
- Also noted the expected timelines for each deliverable.
- PDF Slides (from Lieven) available at DSpace-entities-2-20180903.pdf
- Please add your comments / questions to the Prototype Google Doc at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wEmHirFzrY3qgGtRr2YBQwGOvH1IuTVGmxDIdnqvwxM/edit
- Discussion of how to assess prototype
- Lieven notes we could split Prototype Google Doc into sections (6 total) and discuss one section per meeting
- May be able to get through more than one section per meeting (3-4 meetings)
- Pascal notes we should see where the comments/questions come up in the Google Doc. May be hard to discuss one section at a time (lots of overlap)
- Andrea notes he still has some unanswered concerns (from April) that came up during original DSpace Entities Working Group (preceding group)
- Concerns were noted here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jBG0d3nVxHoDh64Gmys2iDr0IjJDtrsc_a1GxREgD1w/edit#
- Tim asks that we rewrite/update these concerns (perhaps into slides or diagrams?) to give an overview at the next meeting.
- Susanna says comments on Google Doc may be of two types...(1) asking for more info on how prototype works, or (2) detailing disagreement/concerns about prototype direction
- Tim notes this probably is OK. If we bring these questions to discussion, then it should be obvious which type of question/comment each are.
- Next Meeting
- Tues, September 11 at 15:00UTC (same time)
- Concentration on Data Model of prototype and any concerns/questions around that.
- May need to run a Doodle for other meeting times (Sept is busy). We should aim for 3-4 meetings in Sept to keep on schedule
- Tues, September 11 at 15:00UTC (same time)
Action Items
Any assigned actions will appear here, along with details of who they are assigned to.
- ALL: Review the Prototype Google Doc (at least the first two sections – "Configuration of the entity types and their relations" and "Java API). Add comments/questions to the Google Document itself, in preparation for next meeting.
