Status
Context
VIVO has grown over the years as an open scholarly infrastructure and as a community. Last year we signed the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information, which brings expectations around transparency, governance, and sustainability with it. This is a welcome reason to start a self‑assessment of our practices and values using the Principles of Open Scholarly Infrastructure (POSI), as suggested by the Barcelona Declaration. They provide a structured way to document current practices, to identify gaps, and to emphasize our strengths. This suggested task force would build on current governance and community discussions.
Objectives
- Document current practices, open questions, and gaps across POSI categories.
- Conduct a structured POSI v2 self‑assessment for the VIVO project.
- Identify priority areas for improvement and potential follow‑up actions.
- Produce and publish the self-assessment to support transparency and institutional decision‑making.
Deliverables
- A completed self‑assessment document for VIVO in compliance with POSI v2.
- Documentation published on the VIVO wiki or the VIVO Website, shared with the community.
- Prepare a presentation in a public webinar of the outcomes. The presentation might be held after the closure of this task force.
