This 3-day Islandora and Fedora Camp will be held at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, February 24-26, 2020. Islandora and Fedora Camp offers everyone a chance to dive in and learn all about Islandora and Fedora. Training will begin with the basics and build toward more advanced concepts–no prior Islandora or Fedora experience is required. Participants can expect to come away with a deep dive learning experience coupled with multiple opportunities for applying hands-on techniques working with experienced trainers.
We are very excited to welcome the community to the valley! Arizona is beautiful in February. To enjoy the landscape comfortably and safely, please remember to wear sunscreen, hydrate (drink water BEFORE you're thirsty!), and wear hats and other protective clothing.

Accessibility
All recent renovations to Hayden Library were undertaken with an eye on enhancing accessibility for all visitors.
Hayden has ramp access to first floor entrances, elevator access between floors of the new tower, and elevator access to the older, below ground addition (Hayden 89).
There are gender inclusive restrooms and water fountains available on all floors.
Meeting spaces have sound systems/AV.
The Hayden concourse features an “Interfaith Reflection Room,” with 3 smaller private prayer rooms.
The concourse area also features 2 wellness rooms, for lactation support for new mothers, and other health supporting activities.

There are a number of other hotels and private accommodations within walking distance of Hayden Library at different price points (which fluctuate throughout the year). These hotels presently range from about $75-200/night.

For an even lower cost option, the nearest hostel is located in downtown Phoenix, and is about a 15 minute walk to the nearest light rail station.
Directions
ASU’s main campus is located in Tempe, Arizona, which is conveniently located only 6.5 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The airport is connected to the 44th & Washington Street Valley Metro light rail station via the free automated Sky Train service. Valley Metro rail has 3 stops that serve the ASU community in Tempe. The University/Rural stop is less than a 10 minute walk to Hayden Library. A one-way fare on Valley Metro rail is $2.
Other ground transportation options include taxis, ride share services (Lyft and Uber), and the SuperShuttle van service.
Flights are also available through several carriers at the Mesa Gateway Airport, located in Mesa, Arizona, approximately 25 miles southeast of Tempe (and adjacent to the ASU Polytechnic campus). Public transportation to Tempe from the Mesa airport would not be as cheap/easy as through Sky Harbor, but Uber/Lyft/taxis are ubiquitous. There is also a free ASU shuttle bus that travels between the Polytechnic campus and Tempe campus, but riders would be at the mercy of their schedule, and would need to walk to the nearest stop with luggage. (Please note that the bus does not check for campus ID, so participants would not have a problem gaining access)
Attractions include the following: Botanical Gardens (https://dbg.org/), Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West (https://franklloydwright.org/taliesin-west/tickets-tours/), hiking South Mountain (watch for rattle snakes!), and many museums on campus and in Old Town Scottsdale.
